Hi AJ,

You know that feature in the X1 that with arabic mode if we hit the CUSTOM STYLES then a style number (from 0-9), it allows us to see a whole bank of styles? For example Custom STYLE then 3, will display on the screen all the styles from 30 to 39 with their names and to choose the style all we have to do is hit the second number so for 35 at that stage we would just hit 5.

Well, I feel that sometimes this feature needs to be truned off, but the way it is right now is if you hit the CUSTOM STYLE once, thats it the feature is enabled and the only way to turn it off is to go to UTILTITY and turn off the ARABIC MODE, then turn it ON again! Is there a way to make where this feature can be turned on/off in an easier more accessible way ?

What I mean by turned off is that once I hit CUSTOM STYLE and again lets say I am looking at patterns 30-39, if I want to choose pattern 55, I will have to hit CUSTOM STYLE then 55, so thats really pushing 3 buttons rather than 2 (5 and 5) to get to the pattern I want. More over, if I want to go to pattern 32 again I still have to hit CUSTOM STYLE then 3 then 2. This feature is only good if you are choosing patterns that fall within the same first digit (10-19 or 40-49...), but if you go onto another first digit then really its causing us to push more buttons. It would be great if we can turn this feature on and off this way if we are to go from pattern 32 to 55 lets say, then all I have to do is turn this feature off and just push 55 then 32 then 66 then 18 what ever, and I want patterns within the same digit I can turn the feature back on to save me time.

Is it possible?
Thanks

Good suggestion Mosiqaar, and in the meanwhile, the keyboard gives you the choice to load patterns in any location you want. That way, you can arrange your most used patterns in the same bank group (From 0-9 or 11-19;etc...)

I, similarly, have a problem with cancelling Custom Style function in the oriental operating system short of having to dig deep into the utility menu or switching the KB off and on again (which I usually do).

We might be able to dedicate an 'unused' button that will function as an ON/OFF while in ARABIC MODE ... still need to investigate. In anyway, you're right - a disignated ON/OFF (even in UTILITIES) would be nice. This might be adjusted in new OS for X-series.
Sorry for delay - rather busy on new projects.

Hi AJ,

Thanks alot and don't worry I understand people get busy (I know I do). If we can implement an ON/OFF button on the front panel it would be much better than utility because in live performances such button along with the function of the CUSTOM STYLE button would be of great use.

Thanks again.

Once more question: How can I access the Drum Kits (especially the ones used for arabic patterns) out on the keyboard, other than pressing DRUM SET. I want to be able to chose any drum kit available to use on the keyboard and now when I look through the sound banks I cannot find the arabic kits or any other for that matter. Can you help? thanks.

Oh one final question. Can USR drums be saved and loaded without altering other parameters on the keyboard? In other words can I save a USR DRUM A, and USR DRUM B, and be able to load either one I want to replace the one of the already loaded 4 other USR drums? If yes how and what is the file type? Thanks. I want to be able to load a DRUM KIT without loading new patterns or anything else. thanks.

looking for AJ with a magnifing glass.
may be we can find a better solution to this custom style button that Samer is looking for .. Let,s say ketron finds a way to make a one touch list for the styles and patterns , just like the one for the sounds.. ..

See what you can do AJ.. i know you cant work miracles but we beleive miracles can happen..

GP.

Mosiqaar,

The best way to access the drum kits is via pressing DRUM SET. However, you can also acess them by pressing the RAM button, go to EFFECTS and this is where they are stored (1-8).

George Pchakjian,
Your idea of 1 Touch for Styles and Patterns is a good suggestion that is already being reviewed. The problem is with the limited memory capacity of the X-series; this might not be a solution since it might lead to more insructions than what can currently be supported ... still investigating the best way with the current resources!

Hope this helps.

AJ
